The Paramatma and the Jiva, the Two Brothers

Yesterday we talked about Bhagavan or Krishna being the Father and the Paramatma being the Son. Today we are going to talk about how the Paramatma and the Jiva relate, and how that relationship works. Both the Jiva and the Paramatma come into the world as a pair. As two brothers, the Paramatma is the younger of the two, He comes into the world first. He is the one who gives his first two steps. The one who first says “Mama” and “Papa.” So here we can see that the Paramatma is the Inner-Child. The Human Soul or the Jiva is the older of the two and emerges at a later date in life. But the Inner-Child remains deep within us. The Inner-Child is like a seed within us. He can remain as an Inner-Child or grow into the full Tree of Life. Its not as how some ignoramuses say that it is the human soul who is a seed. The Paramatma is the seed. And He is God within us. He is both Krishna and not Krishna because he is particularized with in each and everyone of us.
There is a parable in the Vedic tradition that tells the story of two birds, these are the human soul and the Super-Soul (Paramatma). The first bird eats from the tree sweet fruits and bitter fruits. These represent pleasure and pain and the accumulation of karma. The second bird the Super-Soul is serene and watchful silently observing the first bird. This silent untainted watcher is the Super-Soul or the Paramatma. Why do I mention this story? Because one of the requirements of this life is to realize the Paramatma. And how do we realize Him? Well, we have to go into His world. And for that we have to slow down and go inside and learn to be still and watchful like Him. Then we may experience something new that arrives into our conscious mind from Him and we may learn to speak His language.
